PESTPOCKEN stehen seit knapp 25 Jahren für authentischen, politischen Punkrock mit geballten Fäusten und flammenden Herzen. Die Band aus Gießen Asozial (D) reißt bei explosiven Shows jede Bühne ab von Festival-Stage bis Squat-Keller und von Frankfurt bis Moskau. Treibender Hardcore-Punk trifft hier auf eine wütende weibliche Stimme, energiegeladenen männlichen Gesang und hymnische Chöre. Ihre musikalischen und idealistischen Wurzel haben PESTPOCKEN im Deutschpunk der früher 80er Jahre.
Die D.I.Y.-Festivals in Gießen zum 10-, 15- und 20-jährigen Bandbestehen sind Highlights der Bandgeschichte. Höhepunkte sind auch der Auftritt der PESTPOCKEN im Film „Punk“ des deutsch-französischen Senders ARTE sowie im Film „Chaostage“, der Anfang 2009 in über 150 deutschen Kinos lief.
